Verari Systems, a San Diego maker of blade storage technologies for data centers, appears to be hitting a rough patch in which many of the company's employees have been laid off, according to reports from Channel Register, Data Center Knowledge and PeHUb.com. Verari -- backed by Voyager Capital and others with about $80 million -- maintained an office in Seattle.
Clearwire suffered an outage of its broadband service last Tuesday night, with customers in Texas, Oregon, Las Vegas, Boise and parts of Chicago and Seattle losing service. Multichannel News reports that the outage in Texas, Oregon, Boise and Las Vegas was connected to a software upgrade with Motorola. The Chicago and Seattle outages were connected to individual cell sites. Clearwire -- which launched its WiMax network in Seattle on Dec. 1 -- said the network problems were resolved that day.
Zapproved, a Portland online collaboration and project management service, has named John Christiansen as vice president of sales. He previously served as vice president of business development at JD Supra and worked at CT Summation. More on Zapproved from this TechFlash story last winter.
Bellevue-based DataSphere and KOMO-TV owner Fisher Communications have syndicated their hyperlocal community blogging and advertising platform to another television station, ABC6 in Providence, R.I., operated by Global Broadcasting LLC. The companies recently announced their first syndication deals with two Cowles California Media stations.

AdReady, the Seattle startup that just appointed former aQuantive executive Karl Siebrecht as CEO, said that its self-service display advertising technology was named the "Best Ad Delivery Platform Innovation" at the Digital Publishing Advertising Conference.
