Concur Technologies, which bought TripIt for up to $120 million last year, has now invested in Room 77, a hotel search and booking website.
Concur, the Redmond maker of travel and entertainment expense management software, did not disclose the amount it was investing in Room 77. Concur joins other investors, including Rich Barton, founder of Expedia and co-founder of Zillow.
Room 77 says travelers can go online and compare prices across major travel sites and shop a variety of room types at more than 120,000 hotels.
Room 77, a Sunnyvale, Calif., startup, has developed a search platform that lets travelers pinpoint the best rooms at top hotels. The company raised $10.5 million in the summer of 2011. With the funding, Room 77 says it plans to go more mobile and global.
Concur has been active in making investments in the travel space and signing partnerships. In January 2011, Concur spent $120 million for TripIt, a San Francisco mobile travel startup that helps travelers organize and share travel plans.
Concur also struck a deal last fall with Intuit that will make Concur’s expense management software available for QuickBooks users.
Concur on Wednesday reported first-quarter revenue of $100.4 million, up 25 percent from a year ago.
Room 77 has worked with hotels and chains, including Kimpton and Starwood. Travelers also are helping Room 77 crowdsource room and property data with photos and reviews.
